how projects actually happen
every project follows a path from idea to final file. here's what happens at each step and what we need from you to keep things moving.
understanding the problem
we start by figuring out what you're actually trying to communicate. who's watching this? where will it live? how do you measure success?
stakeholder interviews, competitor analysis, audience research, creative brief
brand guidelines, reference materials, key messaging, technical requirements
ideas take shape
visual directions, animation styles, narrative approaches. you'll see styleframes, mood boards, rough motion tests. this is where we explore options.
2-3 visual directions, styleframes for key scenes, animation tests, script or narrative outline
internal review first, then presentation to your team, one revision round included, direction approval needed
expanding the approved direction
every scene designed, every transition planned. by the end we know exactly what we're animating. no surprises later.
complete storyboard, final design frames, color scripts, typography lockup
all visuals finalized, timing and pacing defined, voiceover recorded if needed, sound design brief created
making it move
the longest phase. keyframing, timing adjustments, secondary animation, effects. we share work-in-progress versions so you know where we're at.
blocking animation first, refinement pass, polish and details, effects and compositing
25% animation review, 75% near-final review, two revision rounds, technical adjustments
finishing and exporting
sound design, music, color grading, final technical specs. we deliver in whatever formats you need plus source files for future edits.
master file (prores/h264), platform-specific exports, caption files if needed, source project files
usage guidelines, technical specs, asset library, 30 days support
typical project: 8 weeks
this is for a standard explainer video. simpler projects are faster, complex campaigns take longer. we adjust during discovery based on your actual needs.
